Osazenoriuwa Ebose won the discus throw and broke the school record by nearly 17 feet to lead the Swarthmore College women's track & field team to a sixth-place standing among 10 schools after the second day of the Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday, May 2 at Muhlenberg's Scotty Wood Stadium. The Garnet ended the day with 30 points.
Ebose easily captured the discus title, launching a toss that traveled 152-feet, 2-inches. The mark easily beat out the runner-up finisher from Muhlenberg by more than 21 feet and bettered her previous school record of 135-6 which she recorded at the Lions Invitational on April 26, 2014.

Indy Reid-Shaw, the women's 4x800-meter relay won gold for the third straight year by hitting the tape in 9:16.52. The group also consisted of senior
Liz Tawa, sophomore
Kate Hannah and junior
Sarah Nielsen.
Senior
Chastity Hopkins also had a strong individual performance, finishing third in the heptathlon with 3,657 points. She most notably recorded the second-best throw of 95-8 in the javelin throw, while her final mark ranks second in the program annals.
In addition, Swarthmore had three student-athletes combine to advance past the trials in three events. Sophomore
Lulu Allen-Waller broke the school record in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles by navigating the track in 1:02.71 and also completed the 100-meter high hurdles in 15.18 seconds, while juniors
Katie Lin and
Sarah Nielsen notched times of 2:19.37 and 2:19.53, respectively, in the 800-meters.
Swarthmore will conclude competing at the Centennial Conference Championships tomorrow morning beginning at 11:00 a.m.
