Women’s Track Earns Three First-Place Finishes at Haverford

HAVERFORD, PA. - The Swarthmore College women's track & field team had three individuals finish first overall at the Haverford Midweek Meet on Tuesday. 

Caroline Hill won the high jump, while Amelia Landry and Briana Eugene highlighted the afternoon with victories for throws. Landry won the javelin, while Eugene placed first in the discus with a personal record. The sophomore also set personal bests in the discus and hammer, improving in all three of her events. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hill recorded the top mark in the high jump at 1.48m. Deedra Closser followed with a height of 1.38m to grab second in the three-person event. 

- Eugene won the shot put with a top measurement of 11.95m. Aislinn Comerford grabbed third in the event at 11.30m, setting a new personal best. 

- Landry won the javelin with a best throw of 33.63m. She also competed in the discus with a personal record of 32.00m. 

- Eugene secured another top-three finish with a runner-up result in the discus. The sophomore threw a personal record of 38.36m. 

- Comerford was third place in the hammer throw with a personal best of 37.42m. She earned a pair of top-three finishes on the afternoon. 

- Rebekah Gendler was fourth in the long jump with a top effort of 4.92m. She also competed in the triple jump with a 9.32m mark. 

- Aryana Henry recorded a personal best in the 100m dash, racing to a 15.73 finish to grab 13th overall. 

UP NEXT
The Garnet return to action this weekend at the Rick McCorkle Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Lydia Morris-Kliment will also represent the Garnet in the discus throw at Friday's Penn Relays.
