GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's outdoor track & field team finished in third place at the Centennial Conference Championships on Sunday.
Tate Garcia,
Amelia Landry, and
Elizabeth Page all garnered medals on the last day of competition to lead the Garnet.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Garcia was the runner-up in the shot put for the second straight year, posting a toss of 12.63 meters. She concludes her career as five-time All-Centennial honoree in the event and seven-time All-Centennial selection overall across indoor and outdoor.
- Landry picked up her first career Centennial medal with a third-place finish in the javelin (33.43m).
Hannah Swale followed Landry in fourth place with a season-best mark of 32.96 meters.
- Page reached the podium in the 1500 meters for the first time, coming in third place with a season-best time of 4:38.43.
Olivia Montini also competed in the event and took ninth (4:53.16).
- Behind Garcia, Swarthmore had three other top-10 finishers in the shot put with
Briana Eugene fourth (12.02m), Swale eighth (11.58m), and
Aislinn Comerford ninth (11.39m). Eugene and Comerford both posted a personal record while Swale's distance was a season best.
- In the 5000 meters,
Aaliyah Anaskevich recorded a career-best time of 18:19.47 for sixth place and
Charlotte Martin followed in seventh (18:28.48).
Gabby Bredbenner had a sixth-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.62.
- The 4x100 meter relay of
Hannah Garrou,
Kiara Pedra,
Caroline Hill, and Bredbenner took sixth in 50.99. Garrou, Montini,
Ania Wong, and Page raced in the 4x400 meter relay and placed seventh (4:15.07).
- Hill ran the 100 meter hurdles in 16.97 and came in seventh place.
Rebekah Gendler produced a distance of 10.14 meters in the triple jump to take ninth.

The Garnet compete in final qualifying meets next week as they aim to extend their season.
