Osazenoriuwa Ebose set the Centennial Conference shot put record to lead the Swarthmore College women's track & field team at the prestigious Penn Relays on Thursday, Apr. 23 at Franklin Field.
Ebose recorded a toss that sailed 46-feet, 10.75-inches to place sixth overall among 50 competitors and behind only five Division I student-athletes from Penn State, Northern Illinois, South Florida, Cincinnati and Army. Her mark smashed her previous school record of 43-11.25 which she recorded at the same meet last year and currently ranks third nationally at the Division III level. Ebose also placed 20th in the discus with a throw that traveled 134-10.
Swarthmore also had two relay teams compete over the course of the day. The 4x100-meter relay navigated the track in 51.71 seconds and the 4x400 clocked in at 4:10.81. Sophomore
Lulu Allen-Waller and senior
Julia Nee ran on both relays that also included sophomores
Anise Charles,
Katherine Zavez and
Kate Hannah as well as junior
Katie Lin.
The Garnet will compete at the Lion Invitational over the weekend in their final tuneup before the Centennial Conference Championships.
