SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Paced by two winning performances, the Swarthmore College women's track & field team completed the second day of the Centennial Conference Championships in third place among 10 schools on Saturday, May 3 at Clothier Field. The host school ended the afternoon with 33 points through seven scoring events.

The Garnet ended the day on a high note by capturing the 4x800-meter relay crown in 9:12.99, which was less than a second shy of the school record mark of 9:12.42. The group consisted of junior Liz Tawa, freshman Indy Reid-Shaw, sophomore Sarah Nielsen and sophomore Katie Jo McMenamin.

Junior Osazenoriuwa Ebose also racked up 10 points for the hosts by winning gold in the discus throw earlier in the day. The school record holder in two throwing events posted a mark of 130-feet, 5-inches, which was nearly five feet better than her nearest competitor.

In addition, Swarthmore had four student-athletes combine to advance past the trials in four events. Junior Julia Nee qualified for tomorrow's finals in the 200- and 400-meter dash by registering times of 26.29 and 58.79, respectively. Other qualifiers included McMenamin in the 800-meter run, freshman Lulu Allen-Waller in the 100-meter high hurdles and sophomore Katie Lin in the 400.
