NEW ORLEANS – The Swarthmore College women's track & field team had eight individuals named All-Academic Athletes while also garnering team recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Tate Garcia,
Hannah Garrou,
Alina Irvine,
Lydia Morris-Kliment,
Elizabeth Page,
Hannah Swale,
Trel Trelstad, and
Ania Wong all earned the individual honor. It is the second career accolade for Morris-Kliment and Trelstad.
The Garnet were announced as an All-Academic Team for posting a cumulative GPA of at least 3.10, compiling a team average of 3.57. To earn individual honors, athletes must compile a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 while also finishing the season among the top 50 individuals in an event or have competed on one of the top 35 relay teams.
Garcia tied for 22
nd in the nation in the indoor shot put. Garrou, Irvine, and Wong all ran on Swarthmore's top distance medley relay to qualify for the award. Trelstad tied for 24
th in the outdoor high jump and was tied for 26
th indoors. Morris-Kliment placed 33
rd in the discus while Swale was 21
st in the heptathlon during the outdoor season. Page was 43rd in the indoor mile and also was part of the distance medley relay.
