PHILADELPHIA – Alyson Goldbacher broke her own school record in the pole vault to lead the Swarthmore College women's indoor track & field team at the Widener Schuylkill Showcase this weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Goldbacher placed seventh in the pole vault with a height of 3.20m, topping her own program best from a year ago. She cleared the bar on her first attempt. The sophomore nearly did not get the opportunity as she needed her third and final try to achieve the previous height of 3.05m and stay in the competition.
Sophia Springer also competed in the event and tied for eighth place with a career best (3.05m).
- The Garnet had three top-10 finishers in the shot put with
Tate Garcia fourth (11.23m),
Aislinn Comerford eighth (10.99m), and
Lydia Morris-Kliment ninth (10.62m). Comerford's mark was a personal record.

Ania Wong and
Olivia Montini crossed back-to-back in the mile, taking fourth (5:17.32) and fifth (5:18.46) respectively.
Aaliyah Anaskevich posted a career-best time of 5:38.66 and came in 11
th place.

Bella Thoen was ninth in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:30.04.
Caroline Hill achieved a personal record of 9.84 in the 60 meter hurdles and took 12
th.
Gabby Bredbenner recorded a pair of top-25 performances, placing 16
th in the 200 (26.84) and 23
rd in the 400 (1:02.87). Her time in the 200 was a career best.
- In the weight throw, Morris-Kliment placed 13
th (11.83m), Comerford took 16
th (11.47m), and
Vivian Molnar was 22
nd (11.05m). The tosses were personal records for Morris-Kliment and Comerford.
