Women’s Track & Field Posts Strong Performances at Ursinus Festival

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's track & field team wrapped up action with a handful of top performances at the Ursinus Track & Field Festival on Saturday. 

Trel Trelstad, Tate Garcia, Lydia Morris-Kliment and Hannah Swale all posted top-three finishes to headline the afternoon. Trelstad was the lone winner with a top mark in the high jump. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trelstad cleared a top-height of 1.60m to win the high jump. The senior cleared their first three marks on the first attempt, but was unable to overcome the 1.67m height. 

- Swarthmore had four top-10 finishers in the shot put. Garcia led the pack with a season-best of 12.73m to garner a runner-up finish. Hannah Swale claimed fifth, while Lee Bickford followed a position behind with an identical 11.55m mark. Jordyn Bernard rounded out the quartet with a 10.60m measurement to place tenth. 

- Morris-Kliment secured a runner-up finish in the discus at 40.29m, while Tate Garcia placed seventh with a 35.86m mark. 

- Swale made her collegiate debut in the 400m dash with a top-three finish. The junior clocked a time of 1:00.92 to place third overall. She also earned seventh in the triple jump with a top mark of 10.64m.

- Alina Irvine and Morgan Mouer both placed inside the top-10 in the 1500m run. Irvine finished fourth at 4:53.78, while Mouer enjoyed a personal record of 4:56.20 to earn eighth. 

- Caroline Hill was 11th overall in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.63, finishing a few tenths of a second shy of her personal record from last week. 

- Katelyn Becker raced to a personal record in the 800m run with a time of 2:28.88. The senior took a second off her previous mark in just her second collegiate race.
