SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Trel Trelstad started the Lions Invitational on a high note for the Swarthmore College women's track & field team, breaking their own high jump record to win the event on Friday at The College of New Jersey.
In addition,
Lydia Morris-Kliment represented the Garnet at the 129
th Penn Relays, competing in the discus at the world's oldest and largest annual track and field carnival.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trelstad produced a new Swarthmore outdoor program record with a winning height of 1.66m on their first attempt, surpassing the previous mark of 1.65m that they set in 2022. Trelstad now holds both the indoor and outdoor marks as they claimed the indoor record this past season, also with a height of 1.66m. Trelstad is now tied for 11
th in Division III in the outdoor high jump.
- At Penn, Morris-Kliment placed 12
th overall in the discus with a toss of 43.13m, coming just inches shy of her career best. The distance did improve upon her conference-best mark and she is now ranked 33
rd in Division III this year. Morris-Kliment was the top Division III athlete and the second-highest non-Division I finisher in the event.

Hannah Swale and
Caroline Hill competed alongside Trelstad in the high jump at TCNJ. Swale tied for 10
th (1.48m) and Hill tied for 12
th place (1.43m).
