NEW ORLEANS – The Swarthmore College men's indoor track & field team earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Metro Region honors in two events.
The Garnet's distance medley relay of
Colin DeLaney,
Owen Lord,
Matthew Gutow, and
Kenneth Relovsky claimed the accolade and Relovsky also garnered individual distinction in the mile. The top five individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top three relay teams.
The distance medley relay posted the region's top time in the event this season. The quartet clocked in at 10:12.04 and won gold at the Centennial Conference Championships. It is the fourth straight year that Swarthmore has been All-Region in the event. Gutow has been a member of three of those relay squads while DeLaney and Relovsky earned the honor for the second year in a row.
Relovsky ran the fourth-fastest time in the region in the mile, finishing in 4:18.43 at the Centennial Championships. The sophomore took sixth place in the race.
