NEW ORLEANS – The Swarthmore College men's outdoor track & field team had six individuals earn All-Metro Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Joey Alander (steeplechase),
Spencer Etheridge (10,000m),
Cohen Manges (10,000m),
Archer Manning (long jump),
Kenneth Relovsky (1500m), and
Theo Teszler (400m) all received the award. The top-8 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams.
Alander was sixth in the region in the steeplechase with a time of 9:37.38 at the Danny Curran Invitational. It is his first career All-Region accolade.
Manges and Etheridge ranked fifth (30:53.87) and eighth (31:48.28) respectively in the 10,000 meters. Both recorded their times at the Danny Curran Invitational. It is the first career All-Region selection for both athletes.
Manning picked up his first career All-Region honor by tying for eighth in the long jump. He produced a school-record leap of 7.02 meters to win the event at the Haverford Midweek Meet. Manning's distance broke the 75-year-old program mark.
Relovsky recorded a time of 3:55.92 at the Sam Howell Invitational to rank seventh in the 1500 meters. It is first career outdoor All-Region selection.
Teszler was eighth in the region in the 400 meters with a time of 48.36 at the Ursinus Springfest. He earned All-Region distinction in the event for the second straight year.
