Goldbacher Rebreaks Program Record at Frank Colden, Irvine Earns First Place Finish

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Two weeks after breaking a 20-year-old record, Alyson Goldbacher broke her own program record in the pole vault to headline the Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday. 

Alina Irvine also excelled for the Garnet with a first-place finish in the mile. The senior set a personal record, while recording her first collegiate victory in the event. 



HOW IT HAPPENED
- Goldbacher placed as the runner-up in the pole vault with a top height of 3.05m. The first-year broke her previous program record (3.03m) from two weeks ago. Sophia Springer and Aryana Henry tied for sixth in the event with a height of 2.60m. Springer recorded a new season best, while Henry surpassed her personal record. 

- Irvine won the mile with a personal record of 5:19.79. The senior trimmed nine seconds off her previous best, which was recorded at the 2023 Frank Colden Invitational. Aaliyah Anaskevich also enjoyed a ninth-place finish at 5:48.05. 

- Tate Garcia placed fifth overall in the shot put. The junior recorded a top mark of 12.41m in their second throw of finals. 

- Morgan Mouer finished sixth in the 800m run with a time of 2:28.60. Lucy Valencia also finished towards the top half of the field with a season best of 2:37.78. 

- Caroline Hill achieved a personal record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.48. The sophomore took 11th overall in the event. Hill also placed eighth in the high jump (1.40m) with Deedra Closser grabbing 13th overall (1.30m). 

- Elizabeth Agyei was seventh in the weight throw with a top distance of 14.52m. The senior achieved her season-best mark on her third attempt.
