Women’s Track & Field Earns Handful of Top-10 Marks at UPenn

PHILADELPHIA - The Swarthmore College women's track & field team returned to the newly-opened Jane and David Ott Center at the University of Pennsylvania for the Widener Indoor Classic on Saturday.

Swarthmore showcased its young talent with a pair of top-10 finishes in the mile. First-years Elizabeth Page and Ania Wong both achieved personal records in the event, while running towards the top of a crowded field. 


HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet showcased their excellence in the mile with a pair of first-years earning top-10 finishes. Page was fifth overall with a personal record of 5:04.57, while Wong followed closely behind in eighth place with another personal best of 5:08.75. 

- Trel Trelstad was fifth overall in the high jump with a top effort of 1.65m. The senior cleared the height on their third attempt, but was unable to top their program record with a height of 1.70m. 

-  Tate Garcia placed seventh overall in the shot put with a top mark of 12.17m. Elizabeth Agyei also posted an eighth-place effort in the weight throw at 14.33m. 

- Hannah Swale ran a season-best in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.67. The junior placed 16th overall in a field of 40 competitors.  

- Alyson Goldbacher matched her program record with a height of 3.05m. She cleared the mark on her first attempt to place 22nd overall. 

UP NEXT
The Garnet return to action next week at the Keogh Invitational.
