KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Swarthmore College women's soccer team had five players named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region V Team on Tuesday.

Celia Kanellakos and Ava Gizzie led the way as first team honorees. Dahlia Bedward and Aminah Evans were members of the All-Region Second Team while Nicole Jensen grabbed a spot on the third team. It was the third career All-Region selection for Gizzie and the second for Evans.

Kanellakos finished second on the Garnet behind Gizzie in both goals (8) and points (20). She tallied five game-winning goals, which ranked second in the region. Kanellakos was chosen to the All-Centennial Conference First Team.

Gizzie earned their third consecutive All-Region First Team nod after posting a career-high 11 goals and 24 points this season. The junior was third in the region in game-winners (4), 12th in goals, and 15th in points. They had a streak of nine consecutive games with a goal this year, tying the program record. Gizzie was the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a member of the All-Centennial First Team.

Bedward made 21 starts in goal for Swarthmore, going 13-2-5 with six shutouts. She produced 85 saves, a 0.80 goals against average, and a .859 save percentage. Bedward ranked fifth in the region in save percentage, 10th in goals against average, 11th in shutouts, and 12th in saves. She was named to the All-Centennial First Team.

After garnering third team honors last year, Evans improved to an All-Region Second Team slot after another standout season on the back line. She helped the squad rank fifth in the region in both goals against average and shutout percentage. The Garnet allowed just 15 goals with 13 shutouts in 23 contests. Evans was an All-Centennial First Team selection.

Jensen led the squad and ranked 10th in the region with seven assists. The sophomore added two goals for 11 points. She was chosen to the All-Centennial Second Team.
