Parker Tabbed Women’s Soccer Associate Head Coach

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's soccer program announced the hiring of Jeff Parker as its next full-time associate head coach after former assistant Esther Edwards' departure to follow her husband to Germany for a professional coaching opportunity with Borussia Dortmund.

Parker adds another 30 years of collegiate coaching experience to a Garnet program that finished first in the Centennial Conference regular season standings in 2025 (9-0-1) and had a Sweet 16 run in the NCAA tournament. Starting next season the women's soccer program will be one of the most experienced soccer staffs in the country at any level with over 65 years and nearly 1200 games of collegiate coaching experience.

"We're so lucky to have Jeff joining our staff, making the Garnet even that much more of a force both in our region and nationally," said Head Coach Todd Anckaitis. "He's a proven recruiter and a proven winner in a high academic environment and more importantly he believes in the D-III model and can hit the ground running."

Parker joins the Swarthmore staff after two seasons as the top assistant coach at Division-I Iowa State University. This past fall, he helped guide the Cyclones to their best start in the last 12 years.

Before moving back to the Division I ranks, Parker spent 23 seasons as the head coach of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer program. During his tenure with the Ducks, he was the winningest soccer coach in Steven's history, highlighted by 22 consecutive postseason appearances, 16 conference championships, 13 NCAA Tournament berths, three NCAA Sweet 16 appearances and a 312-123-35 overall record.

Prior to his tenure at Stevens, he spent two seasons as the head coach at Division-I Saint Peter's University and also served as an assistant coach for two seasons at Georgetown University.

Parker holds coaching certifications from the United States Soccer Federation and the NSCAA/United Soccer Coaches Association, and has completed advanced coursework through the Union of European Football Associations, the Czech Football Association, and the Football Association of Ireland. He also served four years on the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Committee, including two years as the national chair.

A graduate of Texas Tech University, Parker earned a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism in 1991 and a Master of Arts in sports administration in 1993.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity Swarthmore Athletics and Todd Anckaitis is giving me," said Parker. "I'm excited about the project and looking forward to assisting the student-athletes on the journey ahead. I'm very happy to be closer to my family and to represent the incredible institution and program at Swarthmore College."
