LANCASTER, Pa. - Trel Trelstad and
Alyson Goldbacher set new program records to headline a successful Saturday for the Swarthmore College women's track & field team at the Coach I Invitational. Trelstad toppled a nearly 40-year-old program record in the high jump, while Goldbacher broke a 20-year-old pole vault record.
Trelstad cleared a mark of 1.66m on their final attempt to overtake Jennifer Sargent's top height from the 1986 season. The senior now holds the program record for both the indoor and outdoor high jump. In the final event of the weekend, Goldbacher cleared 3.03m on her second attempt to best Rebecca Burrow's record from 2005.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trelstad's record-breaking mark (1.66m) earned them first overall in the high jump. The senior currently sits inside the top-10 nationally in the event. Anna Savolainen also earned a fourth-place finish in the event with a top height of 1.52m.
- Alyson Goldbacher took down a long-standing program record in just her second collegiate meet. The first-year claimed seventh overall in the pole vault with a record-breaking mark of 3.03m.
- Hannah Garrou raced to a personal record in both the 200m and 400m. The junior was third in the 200m with a 27.05 effort. She also took ninth with a time of 1:03.09 in the 400m, finishing four seconds faster than her previous best.
- Elizabeth Agyei tossed a season-best in the weight throw with a 14.37m mark. The senior earned third overall in the event.
- Hannah Swale finished fourth overall with a personal record in the shot put. The junior recorded a best throw of 11.36m on the final attempt. Two of her three throws from the final round beat her previous record. Tate Garcia (10.57m) and Jordyn Bernard (10.50m) just missed out on finals as they placed 12th and 13th, respectively.

Evie Parts finished inside the top-10 in the 5000m run. The senior placed 10th with a time of 20:24.87.
- Lydia Morris-Kliment finished 14th overall in the long jump with a best effort of 4.53m.
- Aaliyah Anaskevich posted a season best in the mile. The first-year finished at 5:47.31 to earn 16th overall.
