ALTOONA, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men's golf team hit the links for the first time in 2024-25, playing the opening round of the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic on Friday at Sinking Valley Country Club.
The Garnet recorded a team score of 309 and sit in a tie for sixth place entering the final day of competition.
Max Ash led the squad on Friday, shooting even par (72) and tying for second place individually.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ash tallied third birdies on the day, including going back-to-back on the third and fourth holes. He also birdied the par-5 11
th hole.

Judah Fulchiero opened his collegiate career with a 78 (+6). He is tied for 25
th place. After struggling early, Fulchiero finished strong with a pair of birdies over his final five holes.

Andy Xin began his campaign with a seven-over-par 79. He had a lone birdie on the the 12
th hole.
Yuxuan Wang was a stroke behind Xin with an 80 (+8). He started the round in style with an eagle on the first hole before adding a pair of birdies later in the front nine. However, Wang struggled on the back nine to fall back to the pack.
Chad Kemmerer carded an 83 (+11). He posted a pair of birdies in the middle of the round.
