PITTSFORD, NY - The Swarthmore College men's golf team placed third overall at the Fred Kravetz Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Garnet shot 18-over as a team with a two-round total of 586.
Max Ash had the afternoon's top result to pace the Garnet at one-over-par for the tournament. Ash finished fifth overall, while Frank Zhou also enjoyed a top-10 finish, placing ninth overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ash capped off a strong weekend at one-over-par to finish fifth overall. The junior shot an even-70 in the final round with a pair of birdies. Ash was two-under to end the front nine before a double-bogey on the 13th hole served as his only blemish.
- Zhou finished inside the top-10, placing ninth overall. The rookie shot three-over-par in the final round after opening the tournament with a stellar one-under performance.
- Alex Lyu placed 16th overall at six-over-par. The first-year finished off the final round with a 75 (+5) after entering the final day at one-over.
- Michael Yuen and Phelps Wang also shot five-over-par in the second round. Yuen placed 17th at eight-over for the tournament, while Wang accumulated a two-round score of 11-over to finish 22nd. Wang carded four birdies on the final day and seven total for the tournament.
