LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College's
Frank Zhou was selected the Centennial Conference Men's Golf Rookie of the Year, becoming the fourth player in program history to earn the honor.
Zhou is the third Garnet recipient of the award in the past four years, joining teammate
Dylan Zhang (2023) and Benjamin Garcia Moreira (2024). Vamsi Damerla also won top rookie honors for Swarthmore in 2016. In addition to Zhou's recognition,
Thomas Bundy was the Garnet's representative on the Centennial All-Sportsmanship Team.
Zhou averaged 73.7 strokes per round through 23 rounds this year, a new program record for a first-year player. His average is poised to be the second-best in a season by any Garnet player, behind only teammate
Dylan Zhang. Zhou finished in a tie for 18
th place at his first Centennial Championships with a three-round score of 224 (+8).
Zhou was Swarthmore's top finisher in three tournaments this year with a season-best fourth place at the Fernandina Beach Collegiate. Zhou scored par or better in seven rounds with a low of 68 in the opening round of the Fernandina Beach Collegiate.
