Men’s Golf Opens Action at Northeast Elite

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's golf team sits in 15th overall out of 20 competitors after the opening round of the Northeast Elite on Saturday. The Garnet carded a 301 (+17) as a team.

Yuxuan Wang shot even-par to lead the Garnet in the opening round. The sophomore carded a 71 to tie for 13th overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wang carded his lowest round of the season with a 71 (E) to pace the Garnet. The sophomore tallied five birdies for the round and shot three-under for the front nine. He is currently tied for 13th place after the opening round.

- Andy Xin shot two-over-par to tie for 28th overall. The junior carded a 73 to match his best round of the season. Xin finished with three birdies for the afternoon.

- Max Ash shot a 77 (+6) to tie for 70th overall. The sophomore struggled on the front nine, but bounced back with an improved back nine. He carded four birdies for the afternoon.

- Chad Kemmerer tied for 93th overall with an 80 (+9) for the round, while Judah Fulchiero carded an 81 (+10) to round out Swarthmore's competitors. Fulchiero is currently tied for 95th overall
