Swale, Morris-Kliment Capture Conference Championships on Day Two of CC Championships

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's track & field team reached the podium in four events on the second day of the Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday.

Hannah Swale and Lydia Morris-Kliment headlined a successful afternoon with conference championships in the heptathlon and discus throw, respectfully. Swarthmore also earned silver in the 4x800m relay, while Trelstad T medaled in the high jump for the third-straight outdoor season with a bronze medal. 



HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swale won the conference championship in the heptathlon with a personal record of 4,149 points. Swale led the field in the 100m hurdles (15.88), javelin (37.08m) and shot put (10.05m). The sophomore is the first women's track & field athlete in program history to win the heptathlon. Swale earned bronze in the event last spring.

- Morris-Kliment earned the conference championship in the discus throw with a top distance of 41.02m. The first-year became the second-straight Swarthmore thrower to take gold in the event after Adria Retter won the event last season.  Lee Bickford also earned points for the Garnet with a top throw of 34.63m to take seventh place. 

- The 4x800m relay of Morgan Mouer, Olivia Montini, Alina Irvine and Sophie Goodwin recorded a runner-up finish to take home silver. Swarthmore crossed the finish line at 9:28.63 to medal in the event for the third-straight season. 

- Trelstad was awarded bronze in the high jump with a top mark of 1.52m. The junior has medaled in the event all three of their outdoor seasons. 

- Goodwin earned points for the Garnet with a sixth-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase. The first-year crossed the finish line at 11:24.26 with a personal record. 

- Miranda Kashynski earned a pair of ninth place finishes in the 400m and 200m prelims. The senior recorded a personal record of 1:00.81 in the 400m dash, while finishing at 27.29 in the 200m dash. 

- Cami Bortz raced to a personal record in the 200m dash with a time of 27.46. The senior took 11th overall in the event.

The Garnet look to carry today's success over to the final day of the Centennial Championships on Sunday.
