Trelstad, Goodwin and Swale Earn Victories at Ursinus Festival

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's track & field team wrapped up its weekend at the Ursinus Track & Field Festival on Saturday.

Sophie Goodwin, Trelstad T and Hannah Swale each picked up victories on the day. Goodwin won the steeplechase with a personal record, while Trelstad finished first in the javelin and Swale was victorious in the heptathlon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Goodwin won the steeplechase with a personal record of 11:38.41. The first-year improved to 33rd in the nation in the event. Evie Parts also placed third in the event with a time of 13:29.49.

- Trelstad won the javelin throw with a personal record of 35.35m. The junior won the event by five meters to take home a decisive victory. Amelia Landry qualified for the finals in the event with a 27.21m mark to earn fifth overall.

- Swale won the women's heptathlon with 3,880 points. The sophomore placed first overall in the high jump (1.47m), shot put (10.69m), javelin (32.51m) and 800m run (2:53.63). She placed top-three in every event

- Sophia Springer placed as the runner-up in the pole vault. She recorded a top height of 2.60m in the event.

- The Garnet placed fourth, fifth and sixth in the triple jump. Goodwin led the way with a 10.37m effort. Alyssa Zhang followed at 10.25m, while Caroline Hill posted a top mark of 10.08m.

- Elizabeth Agyei and Megan Bickford each made the finals in the hammer throw. Agyei was fifth overall with a 36.30m mark, while Bickford was seventh at 32.37m.

- Miranda Kashynski qualified for the finals in the 100m dash. The senior was seventh overall with a time of 13.60.

- Morgan Mouer finished eighth in the 800m run. The junior crossed the finish line with a time of 2:27.46 to finish towards the top of a crowded list of competitors.

- Cami Bortz was tenth in the 400m run with a time of 1:04.28. She also competed in the 100m dash with a time of 14.10.

The Garnet return to action next weekend at the Larry Ellis Invitational, Bison Outdoor Classic and the Bill Butler Invitational.
