EWING, NJ. - Competing on the second day of TCNJ's Lions Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 29, the Swarthmore women's track & field team put up solid results.
Taking on nearly fifty other teams, including Centennial rival Ursinus College, the Garnet fielded athletes in six events, including the: 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump and Shot Put.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior
Cami Bortz represented Swarthmore in both the 200m and the 400m. Bortz finished 48th in the 200 at 31.11 seconds, and 20th in the 400 at 1:07.60, a new personal best.
- Senior
Emily van Assendelft placed 13th in the 800m with a time of 2:31.53, a new career high in the event.
- Senior
Cat Crochunis-Brown finished 21st in the 1500m, putting up a time of 5:16.27.
- Moving over to field events, the Garnet saw two competitors in the long jump. Junior
Alyssa Zhang finished 10th with a mark of 4.58m, while senior
Leila Kirton placed 17th with a mark of 4.35m.
- Wrapping up the day with the shot put, sophomore
Jordyn Bernard finished 32nd, notching a mark of 8.98m.

The Garnet will compete in the Centennial Conference Championships from Friday, May 5 through Sunday, May 7.
