WAYNESBORO, PA. - Braving the elements on day one of the Centennial Championship, the Swarthmore golf team put up stellar results on Friday, Apr. 28.

With the final tournament of the season proving a tight race, the Garnet as a team finished fourth overall at 315, just four strokes out of the lead. Swarthmore also saw excellent individual performances, as three members placed in the top ten.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- First year
Dylan Zhang led the way for Swarthmore on day one, posting a mark of 75. With his performance, Zhang slotted in at third overall, just four strokes behind first place.
- Having an excellent afternoon of his own, first year
Neil Zhu tied for sixth place with his mark of 77, only two strokes behind his teammate.
- Rounding out the Garnet's top-10 placements, senior
Gyan Bains finished the first day at eighth, putting up a mark of 78.
- Juniors
Jackson Murphy and
Ben Lee also competed for the Garnet, with Murphy placing 27th at 85, and Lee tying for 28th at 86.Â
