MEDFORD, Ma. - Competing up in Massachusetts for the second time this season, the Swarthmore women's track & field team saw excellent results from senior
Adria Retter at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet on Saturday, Mar. 4th.
Taking on athletes from nearly 50 different schools, including Centennial rivals Johns Hopkins University, Ursinus College and Bryn Mawr College, Retter dominated her opponents, finishing first in the shot put and third in the weight throw.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Retter's winning throw of 14.30m in the shot put was enough not only to win her the event, but to break the Swarthmore program record, setting a new mark of excellence in the event. With the result, Retter now holds the eighth best throw in all of division III track & field this season.
- Competing in the weight throw, Retter finished third, putting up a mark of 15.97m.

Heading down to Alabama, the women's track & field team will compete in the NCAA Indoor T&F National Championship from Friday, Mar. 10th - Saturday, Mar. 11th.
