HERSHEY, Pa. - The Swarthmore College golf team finished fourth overall at the Centennial Conference Championships as they wrapped up play on Sunday.
Gyan Bains paced the Garnet with a top-10 finish as he set a new program-low 54 hole total. Ankur Malik also placed in the top-10, while Michael Brown finished just outside the top-10 to round out Swarthmore's top-three performers.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bains finished play with a 73 (+3) to tie for sixth overall. The junior sunk two birdies on the afternoon as he ended with a program-record, three-round score of 219 (+9). Bains shot a 71 in the opening round and a 75 in the second round.
- Malik earned a top-10 finish with a 10th place effort. The senior ended play with a three-round score of 223 (+13) after shooting a 74 (+4) on the final day. Malik had two birdies on the afternoon as he took one stroke off his second round score.
- Brown gained two positions on the final day as he moved up to a tie for 11th place. The senior returned to form with a 74 (+4) to end play, which was four strokes over his second round tally. Brown capped off his afternoon with a birdie on the final hole. He finished with a three-round score of 225 (+15).
- Alex Cheriel improved by five positions to finish in a tie for 21st place. The sophomore shot a 77 (+7) to post a three-round score of 235 (+25). Ben Lee also competed for the Garnet as he ended play with a three-round score of 240 (+30).
