HERSHEY, Pa. - The Swarthmore College golf team dropped to fifth place after the second round of the Centennial Championships on Saturday afternoon. The Garnet sit eight strokes outside the top-three with one round to play.
Gyan Bains and
Ankur Malik both sit inside the top-10 individually. Bains fell a few spots to sixth place, while Malik gained one position to move to 10th overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bains is tied for sixth overall after carding a 75 (+5) for the second round. The junior opened the tournament with a season-low 71 (+1) to post a two-round score of 146 (+6) heading into the final round.Â
- Malik gained one position to tie for 10th overall with 75 (+5) on the afternoon. The senior shot one stroke over his opening round score as he sits in the top-10 with a two-round tally of 149 (+9).
- Brown carded a 78 (+8) on the afternoon as he currently sits in 13th place. After opening the tournament with a 73 (+3) on Friday, he will enter the final round with a two-round score of 151 (+11).
- Sophomores
Alex Cheriel and
Ben Lee sit in 26th and 27th, respectively. Cheriel carded an 82 (+12) on the afternoon, while Lee shot an 81 (+11).Â
