KISSIMMEE, Fla.—Swarthmore College Men's Golf tied for first place at the two-day Shenandoah Spring Fling by shooting a 624 (+48) on the 72-par, 6,665-yard layout of the Legends Course at Orange Lake Golf.
The Garnet built a 14-stroke lead in the first day with a 301 and then shot a 323 on the second day. Swarthmore's second squad carded a 351 on the first day and then improved to a 325 on the final round.
Michael sat on top of the leaderboard after the first day with a 73 (+1) and finished 10th overall. He crossed the 100 birdie mark for his career, becoming just the third golfer in Garnet history to do so.
Freshman Gyan Bains ultimately led the Garnet with a 155 (+11) and tied for eighth overall. Christopher Gaeta shot a 74 on the first day and finished in 12th place with a 158.
Leonard Park provided Swarthmore's fourth score with a consistent 80 on each day.
Senior Adam Agustin and freshman Joshua Vandervelde were the only Garnet golfers to shoot below 80 on Friday with Agustin shooting a 79 and Vandervelde a 78.
Zack Rackauckas finished +24, Kevin Zheng went +26, and Max Katz-Balmes finished +32.
