MT. WOLF, Pa.--Swarthmore College Golf opened the 2019-20 season at the Spartan Invitational at Royal Manchester Golf Links. Swarthmore finished in 12th of 15 squads while carding a 654 on the par-72, 6,961-yard layout.

Swarthmore recorded a 333 on Saturday but improved by 12 strokes on Sunday.

Junior Michael Brown led the way with a 154, tied for 19th overall. He shot a 78 on Saturday and a 76 on Sunday. He had a team-high six birdies in the tournament. Brown was the only non-freshman competing for the Garnet.

Leonard Park shot a 158, improving to a 77 on Sunday after his 81 on Saturday. Gyan Bains posted a 171, and Henry Lei and Zack Rackauckas shot 172s.

Fellow freshman Zack Zawisny played as an individual and shot a 161.

Swarthmore sends a team to the Jefferson Invite on Monday and then hosts the Frederick W. Anton III invite at Rock Manor on Sunday.
