COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.--Swarthmore College Women's Outdoor Track & Field finished in second place at the 2018 Centennial Conference Championships on Sunday. That's the best finish at the conference meet for the Garnet since they won in 1998.
The Garnet finished with 121.5 team points, placing them 116 behind Johns Hopkins University and 26 ahead of Dickinson College.
On the third day, junior
Kayla Camacho won the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 25.20 seconds. She also earned second in the 400 with a time of 59.04.
Sophomore
Lilly Price was also victorious on Sunday, winning the 1500 run in 4:34.18. She's ranked 14th nationally in that event. In the 800 run, Price won bronze in 2:17.56.
Winning the 4x100 relay was Camacho, freshman
Lauren Holt, sophomore
Sayaka Vaules and senior
Becky Tang with a mark of 49.61. That's the second-best time in Garnet history as they missed the record by .06 seconds.
Holt, Camacho, Price and senior Jennifer Beltran also teams up to take home third in the 4x400 with a 4:05.40.
Capping off her successful conference meet was sophomore
Claire Conley with a 3
rd place effort in the shot put at 12.32 meters.
In the javelin throw, freshman
Maya Zimmerman got second by throwing 38.52 meters. That is a Swarthmore record.
Swarthmore will host its next competition as the Swat Final Qualifier Meet is set to take place on May 14 at 4 p.m.
