ELKTON, Md.—Swarthmore College sophomore golfer Max Katz-Balmes sank a hole-in-one in the weekend's Revolutionary Classic at Patriots Glen National Golf Club.
Katz-Balmes got the ace on the fourth hole, using his nine iron on the par-3, 145-yard hole. He finished the two-day tournament at +26 with an 84 on Saturday and an 86 on Sunday and tied for second overall. Adam Agustin cared an 88 and an 83 for a +27 and fourth overall.
Hunter Hughes shot a 172 (+28), Chris Zhang posted a 179 (+35) and Kevin Zheng went for 183 (+39).
Swarthmore also had a team competing at the two-day McDaniel Spring Invitational at Bridges Golf Club. The Garnet finished fifth overall with a two-day total of 639 (+63) on the par-72, 6,713-yard course.
Dan Altieri finished third overall with a 152 (+8) and was two strokes off the leader. Altieri single-bogeyed nine holes and had one birdie.
Michael Brown, Vamsi Damerla and Nick DiMaio all tied for 24th overall with a score of 163.
Ankur Malik carded a 167, and Arjun Madan shot a 169.
Swarthmore is back in action at the Stonewall Golf Club on Tuesday.
