ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa.--Swarthmore College Men's Golf finished in second place at the 2017 Centennial Conference Championship on Sunday at Bridges Golf Club, the team's best finish since 2012. The Garnet entered day three in second and then scored a 299 in round three to finish with an 897, four strokes off the lead.
Franklin & Marshall took first place after recording a 291 on day one and holding on with scores of 301 in rounds two and three.
Swarthmore sophomore
Vamsi Damerla tied for second overall with a 222 and
Dan Altieri came in fourth with a 223. The two earned All-Centennial Conference honors by finishing in the top five.
Damerla carded a 77 on day three and birdied two holes on the back nine. Altieri posted birdies on holes six and eight and shot a 73 on Sunday, his lowest round of the championship.
Nick DiMaio finished in a tie for eighth with a 227 after shooting a 76 in round three.
Michael Chen bounced back from an 81 on Saturday with a 73 on Sunday. Chen birdied holes 10 and 17. He totaled a 229 for the weekend.
Adam Agustin shot an 83 on Sunday and completed the championships with a 239.
