ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Golf junior Dan Altieri took first place overall at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic in a field of 88 players. The Garnet finished fifth of 16 teams in this weekend's tournament, shooting a 620 (+44) on the par-72, 6,713-yard course.
The Garnet shot a 319 on Saturday and then trimmed their score to a 301 on Sunday.
Altieri shot a 148 (+4) with a 75 on Saturday and a 73 on round two. He carded seven birdies in the tournament. The other Garnet golfers all shot in the 80s in round one. Michael Brown cut eight strokes from round one to round two and Adam Agustin reduced his score by six strokes. Nick DiMaio had a five stroke reduction and Ankur Malik three.
Brown shot a 152 (+8) and finished tied for ninth place. DiMaio shot a 159 (+15), Malik a 161 (+17) and Agustin a 166 (+22).
The Garnet are back in action on October 14 at the Ursinus Invitational.
