ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Golf finished in fifth place with a 618 in the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
The Garnet trimmed seven strokes off their scorecards, shooting a 313 on day one and then 305 on the second day on the 6,713-yard, par-72 course.
Nick DiMaio finished in sixth overall in the 63-golfer field with a 150. DiMaio scored a 77 on day one and 73 on day two. He birdied on six holes, including the par-3 11th hole on both days.
Michael Chen finished second for the Garnet with a 153, tying for 12th overall. He posted four birdies in the weekend.
Vamsi Damerla carded an 81 on Saturday and cut four strokes off his total on Sunday.
Dan Altieri shot an 80 on both days for the Garnet's fourth score.
Centennial Conference opponent Gettysburg College won the invitational with a 598 (+22). Gettysburg's Dane Sethre-Hofstad took medalist honors in the tournament with par (144).
Swarthmore plays at Hershey Country Club on April 3-4.
