COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.-The Swarthmore College women's track and field team wrapped up the indoor portion of its season on Sunday Feb. 28 at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted on the campus of Ursinus College. The Garnet finished eighth with a total of 38 points.
Johns Hopkins claimed the crown behind 203 points as Haverford (120.50), Dickinson (83.50), Gettysburg (74.50) and Ursinus (67.50) rounded out the top five.
Sarah Nielsen medaled in the mile for the second consecutive season with a runner-up finish in 5:02.50 and joined Kenzie Himelein-Wachowiak, Lili Tobias and Kate Hannah to claim the bronze in the 4x800-meter relay (9:47.43). The distance medley relay foursome of Himelein-Wachowiak, Hannah, Tobias and Jen Beltran also finished third (12:42.73) as did the 4x400-meter squad of Beltran, Lulu Allen-Waller, Kayla Camacho and Lea Slauch (4:13.68).
Other notable performances included Allen-Waller's fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (9.65), Slauch's sixth-place result in the 60-meter dash (a personal-best and new school record of 8.12), and Camacho's PR of 1:01.29 in the 400-meter dash.
Swarthmore next competes at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Apr. 1-2.
