COMPLETE RESULTSHAVERFORD, Pa.—The Swarthmore College women's indoor track & field team stood out at the Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford College on Saturday, Feb. 20 as it prepared for next weekend's Centennial Conference championships.
Sophomore
Lea Slauch had a noteworthy all-around day in a variety of events; she placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.26, the second-best mark in program history, and factored into a win in the 4x400 relay (4:18.17) along with
Lulu Allen-Waller,
Jen Beltran and
Sarah Nielsen. Slauch also placed sixth in the long jump (4.53m) and finished seventh in the 200-meter dash (28.39), closely behind teammates Allen-Waller (4th, 28.28) and
Jessica Lewis (5th, 28.30).
Nielsen claimed second in the 800-meter event in 2:21.08 while
Indy Reid-Shaw finished third in 5:12.66 as both runners posted ECAC Division III qualifying times. In addition, Reid-Shaw's mark was the fifth-best in program history as well.
Kate Hannah (5:20.96) and
Kenzie Himelein-Wachowiak (5:21.99) also had strong showings in the mile, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively. Freshman
Kayla Camacho finished runner-up in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 1:02.78.
Swarthmore resumes competition and rounds out the indoor portion of its season next weekend, Feb. 27 and 28, at the Centennial Conference championships hosted on the campus of Ursinus College.
