LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa.—Swarthmore Golf won the first competition of the 2015-16 season by shooting a 315 at the Philadelphia University Quad Match at the ACE Club on Sunday afternoon. The Garnet opened the season by playing five freshmen.
Dan Altieri carded a 74 in his first collegiate meet on the par-72, 6,702-yard course to lead the field.
Nick DiMaio finished a stroke behind Altieri.
Vamsi Damerla shot an 81, and
Chris Zhang finished with an 85.
The Garnet completed the course 12 strokes ahead of the host Philly U. Rams. Neumann came in third with a 335 and New Jersey City University shot a 397.
Swarthmore plays at Raven's Claw Golf Club on Tuesday.
