Osazenoriuwa Ebose won the discus throw to lead the Swarthmore College women's track & field team at a final qualifying meet on Monday, May 11 at Clothier Field.
Ebose recorded a mark that sailed 144-feet, 0-inches to win the discus crown for the second straight meet and the fourth time this season. She ended the day ranked eighth nationally in the event as well as first in the country in the shot put.
On the track, the Garnet got a pair of stellar performances from sophomore
Indy Reid-Shaw and junior
Sarah Nielsen. Reid-Shaw finished 11th in the 5,000-meter run in 17:56.35, while Nielsen was 30th in the 1,500-meters by crossing the line in 4:42.52. Both times were ECAC qualifying marks.
At Villanova, sophomore
Maggie O'Neil broke a school record for the second time in as many meets by registering a mark of 111-2 in the hammer throw. She also broke the program standard in the javelin throw this season with a toss that sailed 110-10 at the Centennial Conference Championships on May 2.
Swarthmore plans to send student-athletes to another final qualifying meet at Salisbury on Friday, May 15.
