Chastity Hopkins ended the afternoon in second place in the heptathlon through four events to lead the Swarthmore College women's track & field team at the Centennial Conference Championships on Friday, May 1 at Muhlenberg's Scotty Wood Stadium.
Hopkins finished with 2,138 points, which is just 72 points behind leader Paige Marsh from Johns Hopkins. She most notably ran the fastest time of 27.78 seconds in the 200-meter dash and recorded the second best mark in the high jump, clearing 4-feet, 11.50-inches.
Sophomore
Katherine Zavez scored the first points of the meet for the Garnet by placing fifth in the pole vault. She cleared 9-0.25.
Swarthmore will continue competing at the Centennial Conference Championships tomorrow morning beginning at 8:45 a.m.
