ELKTON, Md.--Swarthmore freshman golfer
Nick DiMaio finished the two-day Revolutionary Collegiate Classic at the top of the leaderboard with a total score of 143 (-1).
The Garnet led the six-team field after Sunday with a 298 on the 6,730-yard, par-72 course but flagged on Monday, shooting a 316 for a combined score of 614 (+38). Swarthmore was the top Division III school, but ended up six strokes behind Chestnut Hill.
DiMaio carded a tournament-low 70 on day one, scoring birdies on seven holes.
Dan Altieri, after shooting a 78 on Sunday, cut down to a 73 on Monday to finish with a 151 (+7), good enough for fourth overall.
Vamsi Damerla finished in a tie for sixth, posting a 72 in round one and an 83 in round two.
Chris Zhang came in 13th with a 165 (+21), carding a 78 and 87.
Swarthmore's next event is at Bent Creek Country Club on Oct. 19.
