SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Katie Jo McMenamin posted one of the fastest 800-meter run times in the nation to lead the Swarthmore College women's track & field team at a final qualifying meet on Monday, May 12 at Clothier Field.

McMenamin finished the 800 ninth in a personal-best time of 2:13.16, which is a mark that currently ranks 23rd nationally. The sophomore, who fell just shy of earning All-America laurels indoors, is also ranked 19th in the 1,500-meters for registering a time of 4:33.97 at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational on Apr. 16.

Other strong performances were made by junior Osazenoriuwa Ebose, sophomore Katie Lin and freshman Indy Reid-Shaw. Ebose most notably placed second in the shot put with a throw that sailed 43-feet, 6.50-inches, while Lin won her heat in the 800 in a personal-best time of 2:18.29. Reid-Shaw, who has already been a part of three Centennial championship relay squads in her young career, finished 17th in her first 5,000-meter collegiate race with a time of 18:11.11.

Swarthmore plans to send student-athletes to another final qualifying meet at Salisbury on Friday, May 16.

Note: A total of 12 facility records, including six in women's events, were set at the non-scoring meet.
