RESULTSWILMINGTON, Del. – The Swarthmore College golf team shot a 301 in the second round of the Centennial Conference Championship and retained its third-place standing among seven competing schools on Saturday, Apr. 26 at the DuPont Country Club.
Swarthmore, which has a team score 619 through two rounds, ended the day behind Franklin & Marshall (307-293-600) and McDaniel (312-303-615) after firing the second-lowest score among the seven teams on the second day of action. Brad Lankler of Franklin & Marshall leads the individual competition with a two-day total of 147 after recording a 75 this afternoon.
The Garnet were led by freshman
Michael Chen, who shot a 72 and is tied for third place with a two-round score of 151. The team also counted scores of 75 from junior
Andrew Park, 76 from senior
Price Ferchill and 78 from senior
Sam White. Senior
Jeff Wall also competed and carded an 81 on the par-71, 6,763-yard circuit.
In addition, junior
Amanda Beebe competed in the opening round at the league's women's conference championship in Harrisburg. She ended the day in a tie for 13th place by firing a 96 on the par-72, 5,820-yard course.
The Garnet will look to finish the tournament strong in the final round on Sunday afternoon.
