COMPLETE RESULTSScranton, Pa. - The Swarthmore College golf team shot a 314 in the first round of the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational at the par-71, 6,765 yard Glenmaura National Golf Course on Sunday, Apr. 13 and stand in fourth place out of 12 teams.
The Garnet were led by senior
Sam White, who shot a 76 and sits in eighth place. The team also counted scores of 79 from seniors
Jeff Wall and
Kyle Knapp and a score of 80 from senior
Price Ferchill. Junior
Andrew Park also competed and shot an 82.
McDaniel sits in first place with a team score of 307, while Stephen Welkie of Susquehanna had the best individual score of the day by firing a 73.
In addition, junior
Amanda Beebe competed at the Stevenson Spring Invitational over the weekend at the Piney Branch Golf Club in Upperco, Md. She finished tied for sixth among 39 golfers by firing a 182 on the par-71, 5,801-yard course.
Swarthmore competes
tomorrow morning in the tournament's second and final round.
