Box Score MONTCLAIR, N.J. - The Swarthmore College women's soccer team battled with #17 nationally-ranked Connecticut College in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer First Round match on Saturday, Nov. 16, falling to the Camels by a 3-1 score. Two late goals propelled Connecticut College into the second round to play Montclair State.

Mele Johnson sent a cross from the left side that was knocked in by Lichtenstein in acrobatic fashion, and the teams headed into the break in a deadlock.
Swarthmore, which outshot Connecticut College 15-6 in the match, had practically all of the opportunities to score through the opening 30 minutes of the second half. Johnson unleashed a shot that saw Bryanna Montalvo dive to make a save in the 69th before a header by sophomore
Caroline Khanna was also snared by the Camel goalkeeper.

Montalvo turned away seven shots to earn the victory between the pipes for the Camels, while Magier failed to record a save for the Garnet in the setback,
Swarthmore (13-7-1), which won its first Centennial Conference Tournament championship and made its NCAA tournament debut this fall, is slated to return 22 letterwinners and eight starters next season.
