LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior
Sam White led the Swarthmore College golf team with a score of 76 to place in a tie for twelfth in the team's first event of the year, the F&M Fall Invitational, at the Bent Creek Country Club. The team's score of 327 was good enough for a 10th-place finish out of 19 schools.
In addition to White's 76, senior
Kyle Knapp posted a round of 81, freshman
Drew Langan finished with a score of 84 in his debut and senior
Jeff Wall fired an 86.
Price Ferchill also competed for the Garnet and carded an 88.
York won the tournament with a team score of 302. Two players on that victorious York team, Kevin Long and David Boslough, along with Jared Brown of the Franklin & Marshall White Team, shot one-under-par 70. Long won the individual title on a scorecard playoff.
The Swarthmore College golf team will be back in action on Monday, Sept. 30 to compete at the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational.
