HARRISBURG, Pa. - Price Ferchill was the star for the Swarthmore College golf team once again, as the junior posted his second-straight 77 to lead the Garnet at the second day of the Centennial Conference Championships from the Blue Ridge Country Club.
Ferchill's two-day total of 154 has him tied for seventh place overall.
As a team, Swarthmore posted a 311 on the second day to remain in third place overall. The Garnet's two-day total of 625 has the team 19 strokes behind first-place McDaniel (304) and 10 behind second-place Franklin & Marshall (315).
Three other members of the team shot below 80 in the second round. Junior Kyle Knapp, junior Sam White and sophomore Andrew Park all shot 78s. Junior Jeff Wall was right behind with an 80. Overall, White finds himself tied for 11th place with a 156. Wall (158 / t15th) and Park (159 / t22) follow on the leaderboard.
At the women's championship from the Hanover Golf Club, sophomore Amanda Beebe shot a 93 in the first round. She finds herself in 16th place entering the final round of competition.
Swarthmore looks to make a late push at a title on the final day of the championships tomorrow beginning at noon.
