ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Freshman
Michael Chen posted a second-round score of 77 to lead the Swarthmore College men's golf team to a ninth-place finish out of 15 schools at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic. The Garnet shot 320 as a team to finish with a final score of 636 over two days of competition at the Bridges Golf Club.
Chen tied for 16th individually with a two-round total of 155 to pace the squad, while freshman
Drew Langan and sophomore
Andrew Pak carded identical marks of 160 to tie for 31st.
Andrew Park, a junior, rounded out Swarthmore's team score by firing a 151. Senior
Sam White also competed, shooting an 84 on day two for a total mark of 170.
Host McDaniel won the tournament, following an opening-round score of 298 with a 306 to shoot 604 in total on the par-72, 6,713-yard course. Steven Kluemper of Centenary won the individual title with two rounds of 71.
The Garnet will compete in a tournament hosted by Immaculata University at the Whitford Country Club in Exton on Monday, Oct. 14.
