SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's soccer team's offense was running on all cylinders Thursday evening, as the Garnet used four goals from three different goal scorers to crush visiting Cabrini 4-1 from Clothier Field.

Sophomore Emma Sindelar led the Garnet (5-2, 2-0) offense with two goals - both scored within the first 15 minutes of the match - and an assist. Freshman Melissa Trofa added a goal and assist while sophomore Rehana Omardeen capped the scoring with a highlight-reel goal to end the first half.

The Garnet has now won four consecutive matches by a combined score of 16-2

Despite not taking to the pitch for eight days due to Saturday's postponement, the Garnet showed no signs of rust, jumping on the Cavaliers early and often. The scoring parade began in the 10th minute, as sophomore Ellen Bachmanhuff drilled the post with a shot from distance. Waiting unmarked in front of the goal was Sindelar, who collared the rebound and tapped in for the easy goal, making it a 1-0 game.

Less than five minutes later, Sindelar was at it again. This time she took a pass in stride from
Trofa and chipped the ball over top of the Cabrini goalkeeper to make it a 2-0 match just 15 minutes into the contest. The goal marked the fifth-consecutive Swarthmore goal scored by Sindelar over a three-match span.

Omardeen capped the first-half scoring in the 43rd minute with a goal worthy of SportsCenter's Top 10 plays. The sophomore gained possession following a turnover from a Cabrini defender deep in the area. From the top of the box, she blasted a shot that  curved sharply right-to-left like a knuckleball into the upper corner of the net, making it a 3-0 contest.

While the Garnet maintained a comfortable lead throughout the match, the Cavaliers' play was much improved in the second half. Cabrini got on the scoreboard in the 58th minute when Bree Thompson headed home a goal off a corner kick, cutting the Garnet's lead to 3-1.

Swarthmore quickly dashed any thoughts of a Cabrini comeback in the 64th minute. Trofa, who assisted on Sindelar's second goal, got into the scoring act herself, finishing a two-on-one attack with an assist from junior Aly Passanante to bring the match to the 4-1 final.

Four different goalkeepers saw action for the Garnet. Junior Kaitlyn Sipiora finished with two saves while freshman Caela Long added one.

Swarthmore finished with a 19-7 edge in shots and 12-3 advantage in shots on goal.

The red-hot Garnet return to action Sunday at No. 15 Johns Hopkins. Action is slated to begin at noon.
