STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - A balanced scoring attack and lockdown defensive effort gave the Swarthmore College women's soccer team (10-5, 5-3) a dominant 6-0 non-conference victory over CCNY on Sunday afternoon from the College of Staten Island.

Junior Megan Brock netted two goals while senior Haley Most, junior McCleary Philbin and sophomore Emma Sindelar also found the back of the net as part of a staggering offensive effort that recorded 50 shots during the match. Most, senior Ariana Spiegel, junior Amber Famiglietti, freshman Melissa Trofa and freshman Aine Schanche all added assists for the Garnet.

In goal, senior Beth Martin earned her first career win and shutout.

Swarthmore had no issues with the Beavers - who entered the contest winners of six-consecutive matches - posting three goals in each half for the easy win.

The Garnet wasted no time after the opening whistle, as Brock scored the first of her two goals just :31 seconds into the match to put Swarthmore on top 1-0. The goal is the fastest to start a match on record in program history and tied for the second fastest in Centennial Conference history.

Swat doubled its lead just eight minutes later, as Sindelar dribbled around the CCNY goalkeeper and scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season in the ninth minute to make it a 2-0 match.

Brock was at it again in the 17th minute, capping the Garnet's scoring for the half. This time the junior scored on a header with an assist from Famiglietti to make it 3-0.

It was again all Swarthmore in the second half, as a header goal from Most (55th), a left-footed tally from Philbin (73rd) and own goal (82nd) rounded out the scoring in the 6-0 Garnet win.

Along with owning a commanding 50-3 edge in shots, Swarthmored held one-sided advantages in corners (12-0) and shots on goal (20-0).

Despite surrendering six goals, CCNY's Nicole Carroll played well while facing a barrage of Garnet shots, saving 15.

With a Centennial playoff appearance in sight, Swarthmore returns to conference action on Wednesday when it hosts Bryn Mawr. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
