PHILADELPHIA – Swarthmore College's
Dylan Zhang was selected the Philly-SIDA Men's Golf Academic All-Area Performer of the Year.
The senior became the fifth Garnet student-athlete to be chosen a Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Performer of the Year during the 2025-26 season, setting a new department record. It was the second straight Academic All-Area Team selection for Zhang. The team is voted on by the athletic communications offices of the institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
A three-time All-Region selection by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), Zhang averaged a program-record 72.9 strokes over 21 tournament rounds this year, lowering his own single-season record originally set in 2023-24 (74.3). He also tied the program's single-season mark for birdies, with 63, and scored par or better in eight rounds, which tied the program's single-season record.
Zhang won the individual title at the Camp Lejeune Marine Intercollegiate—defeating the No. 2-ranked player in the country in the process—and was runner-up in two other tournaments this year. The 2023 Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year finished his career as a three-time All-Centennial First Team honoree. Zhang's list of academic accolades is also impressive and includes GCAA All-America Scholar, College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, Academic All-Centennial, and Centennial Honor Roll.
